The Members Business Network (MBN) is slated to host an event themed “Investing in West Africa” on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, at the United Docks Business Park in Port Louis. The aim of this gathering is to highlight the untapped potential that West Africa holds for Mauritian businesses and investors. The event will be moderated by Manisha Dookhony, Chairperson of MINDEX, and will feature a panel of experts:

  • Beryl Agyeiwaa Lomotey, Minister Counsellor/Head of Chancery, Consulate-General of the Republic of Ghana: Mrs. Lomotey will shed light on the diplomatic and regulatory landscape of the region, with a particular focus on opportunities within Ghana.

Ahead of the event, Sheik Mahamoodally highlighted the potential of West Africa, stating that “over the years, my work has taken me to numerous African countries where I’ve witnessed the evolution of the business world, especially in sectors like FinTech, Agriculture, and Mining. I believe we’re just getting started. Leveraging the AfCFTA and other available resources, we should target the African market to elevate our businesses. Our panel discussion on March 14th aims to inform attendees about the opportunities in West Africa and inspire them to invest in the region.

This event serves as a platform for Mauritian businesses and individuals to:

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge about the investment landscape in West Africa.
  • Uncover new markets and potential opportunities for growth.
  • Network with relevant industry experts and key players.
  • Embark on the journey to establish a successful future in West Africa.
